Personally, and based on experience, I think there is a load of time to be found on the track in motors. Much more than, despite what a lot of people say, in set up and driver. Drivers tend to find thir level pretty quickly and once there don't move much. Set up - again, lots of myths about set up. Think of the times you've had a prang during a race, bent x,y and z but continued only to find you are as quick as before the crash. Now, stick some monster engines on and you really can make massive gains.

Obvioulsy I'm one of the ones who's had the benefit of some massive engines over the years, and I'd be the first to admit it. This being motorsport though, I've always accepted that to enjoy the benefits of these big engines, I would need to pay the going rate. It seems from reading below that a lot of people expect to be able to compete at the front for little / no extra cost. I find that hard to understand.

Don't get me wrong - I'd love to race on a completely level playing field. But this is motorsport and that is officially impossible.
