the carb pipes are meant to have holes at the top

battery is 12v, I would buy/use a modern charger such as an optimate

cambelts are looked after by keeping an eye on them.
Get used to checking the state and tension. (main way to prolong the life of a belt is to tape up any gaps in the case joint so stones cannot enter)

warm engine up to 65degs before blasting it

half way up the sight glass(on level ground) is normal position for cool oil level.
