Exactly, the best tool for choosing gearing, is a print out of the dyno graph for each engine, get them plastic coated, so you can protect them and scribble notes on the back with a marker pen.

If you combine this with the rev trace on a Michron, you can see the diference each gearing selection and each engine makes.
