there needs to a very small amount of end play, between clutch and crankshaft shoulder, so the clutch needle bearings are not encouraged to ride up the crankshaft curved shoulder.(another tip is to use a slim,snug fitting washer, between clutch and shoulder, again to prevent the needle bearing from damage)

This means you are never hard up against the clutch when tightening the 5/16" bolt. Just use normal method of loctite and a good nip up.
