Hi Barry....We are also newish to prokarting at Wigan and still playing about with our geering. As me and Dave both weigh in on the heavy side we tried 20/63 in the first race. Seemed to be getting rolled all over by other drivers as we exited the corners and also didnt seem to get our revs up to the max on the l;ong straight. We were advised to up geering to 20/66 and give that a go, which we did and we noted a marked improvement. We accelerated out of the corners a bit quicker and also got revs up from 5200 to 5700 on the straight. We have now been advised to up it slightly more to 20/68 and give that a go. Some are saying it will improve even more, some are disagreeing. We are gonna do the 2 hr pre-race practice on weds firstly using 20/66 which are currently on the kart and then gonna do a quick change to 20/68 and see which is giving us best results.
Hope to see you there and hope you get set up ok.
