Dogman u may be right as he is only a beginner 75 maybe too low. But we have run as low as a 69 at pfi otherwise they just breeze past u on the long straights. I must admit when we started out I did find I always had to add 2 teeth on to whatever the quick kids dads adviced as my boy couldn't carry the corner speed and so never reached max revs at the end of the straights. Once he had been driving for 6 months and gained confidence was getting his lines correct and carrying the corner speed I was able to take 1 tooth off at a time and his lap times kept improving but keep an eye on both your high and low revs u need the best combination of the two. If u r really high on the high revs but very low on the low revs that's no good but also u don't want it the other way either. Monitor your lap times as well as high and low revs only change the sprocket 1 tooth at a time and then see what difference it makes. Also just because a certain gearing works for one driver doesn't necessarily mean that it will work for your lad practice makes perfect as they say but document everything you do and change and how it affects your kart the good as well as the bad and for each circuit you race. Good luck and have fun
