I would use a combination of both bending the seat stays and fitting rubber and steel washers.

at the risk of teaching you to suck eggs:

# you do not want the seat to break under too much side strain

# you want the seat to flex as it is designed (within the constraints of neutrally loaded seat stays)

# you want/need load bearing large penny washers to give the the seat support and to meet the safety regs.

hopefully Nigel (raceinstructor) will be along with some CRG guru tips and seat fitting dimensions...
