You don't need primer if you get the right plastic primer some times it will only come in a tin so wipe it on with a rag very thin. If you are going to put light colours over say black you can get a tinted primer. We buy all are paint from B.S supplies if you call them they could put it all in the post & you no that you will get the right stuff also if you get the colour code for the kart they can put it in a can so then you could freshen the frame up then you will look very smart
