If you keep an eye on ebay people often put pictures of their Dyno curves of big high-value SP engines.....there have been several recently.

on this forum some one once said "good engines are worth tenths of seconds, but good drivers are worth several seconds"......its so true......hence I bought a very good SP engine, then have literally have forgotten about it while I spend the majority of my funding on 1:1 driver tuition.

Another good comment was "buying a big SP is not a right of passage".......hence dont expect to bolt on a killer SP motor and see your lad go to be on the front row, the drivers ability is the biggest overall factor.

to buy a very big SP motor you need to budget 3 grand......my point being, you could get a truck load of driver tuition and new tyres for that.

Half the trouble I see around me is some dads (not all) have egos the size of planets and they cannot accept they are out of their depth, cant set the kart up, and are giving the driver bad driving advice, and generally need some external help from a team or driver coach, hence they are always searching for a massive SP engine as an excuse.
