With bare rims fitted set the steering wheel straight & fix it, I use a tight bungee cord on either side of the steering wheel & around the back of the seat.
Carefully measure the difference between the front edge of the rim to the back edge of the rim, ie, at 9 o'clock & 3 o'clock, a kart normally runs a bit of "toe-out" front measures between 1 to 4mm longer than the the back, how much comes from testing.
If you race, ask around the paddock, someone should help
