What revs are u idling at we used to set it between 2000-2200
Plus engine builders tend to index the spark plug so it faces the inlet valve helping create a better bang. So I would have thought whoever dynoed your engine would have checked your plug and set the gap if needed.
Plus always let the engine run for a couple of minutes before adjusting the idle as it takes that long for it to settle down plus warm up.
