You will be fighting weights all the time if you are over in Honda cadets.

My son had weight on in Honda when we finished but only had a couple of kg on in minimax

Now at 14 and nearly 6 foot tall we are 5 kg over In X30 but he doesn't much body weight he could loose.

Moving up from m cadet tkm would give more options but weights will still cause issues.

If your son is carrying a few extra kg maybe work on fitness and try and loose a bit it will help with his race by as well.
