ideally you would think the clutch would be fitted with no endplay...

The Gx engines have a radius at the step,on pto side,and this encourages the needle roller bearing to spread if you tighten the clutch fixing too tight.
(fixing is preferably a 5/16 unf stud and a nut with loctite)

The solution is to fit a close fitting, slim, washer between the radius and the bearing.

-last clutch point: the key should NOT touch the top of the keyway.
