Hi John - My comments were about the scales!.......Truth be known, I would love to come back to HKC & Rye-house, I raised my son for 3 years at rye from the age of 7 to 10, and I am more emotionally attached to the rye-house circuit than you would ever believe, but the 2 main factors preventing this are:

1) The HKC race date was moved to clash with Buckmore, which we also race at and is a better venue. Its recently had a huge circuit upgrade in terms of both safety and track quality.

2) General safety. Principally the lack of foam crash barriers around stadium bend, as I have seen too many kids hospitalized there, one for 10 weeks, the other 2 broke a leg and an arm each, yes motorsport is dangerous, but a line has to be drawn somewhere. My son also broke his right upper arm at hairpin-1 due to senior karts being allowed on the circuit to test with cadets and we had 4 months off kartingm, my son needed his right-upper arm re-built after it was smashed into 4 pieces.

I did send my reasons for leaving HKC & Rye-house directly to Ryan late last year so the above is nothing new, yes the rye circuit owners are now putting in a lot of good work to turn around the HKC club, but from my side its a real shame this was not done several years before then the HKC club would not have slipped so far into decline of numbers and a non-profit situation.
