The list is large and there are all sorts of ways that you can reduce the prices. However, that is EXACTLY why we are telling you to go and SEE some races! You will see what is needed and, if you are sensible, you'll see how the ones who have LESS money manage to do it.

The first choice is to buy everything second hand.... EXCEPT your helmet! This MUST be new as you can never tell what has happened to it no matter WHAT anyone tells you!

Often the best way is to buy off someone who is selling up and leaving the sport; this way, you may get many of the extra items that you will need. However, go and see the races and you'll be able to cover MUCH more 'ground' than we can here in a few minutes of text.

It's also the reason why we STRESS don't even THINK about buying anything until you have been to 3 races!
