1). Michael Schumacher is rumoured to have spent Ł3.5 million just to get himself into the seat of his first F1 car.

2). McLaren are rumoured to have spent Ł10 million getting Hamilton into the seat of his first F1 car.

3). One of the lesser past drivers was rumoured to have spent an annual Ł2 million in sponsorship to keep his seat in an F1 car.
