No..... Canceric, there is NO evidence that we have EVER created a black hole! For precision, we don't actually have any PROOF that black holes EXIST AT A*L*L!

All we have is evidence that SOMETHING which we cannot 'see' is producing VAST gravitational attractions in some small volumes of space. And that is ALL that we 'know'! The black hole concept is CONJECTURE about what we see but it really is only an elegant GUESS!

It MAY be possible to create one with the LHC but (and I am with Hawking on this one) we won't even get CLOSE to creating one!

Read the press and you WILL find more and more bizarre claims about people having ALREADY created black holes but THEY HAVE NOT....... it's just mindless JOURNALISTS not understanding what the 'Scientists' are saying!

For example, the famous "St Andrews' Black Hole" is NOT one! It's a SIMULATION of a black hole using fibre optics as an ANALOGY of a black hole! It is NOT, no matter WHAT articles that you read, a REAL 'black hole'!

For precision, there is NO EVIDENCE that a black hole of a small size WOULD 'evaporate' (or of ANY size, for that matter): that's just a conjecture of Hawking's that black holes MIGHT 'evaporate' by differential 'absorbtion' of Anti Matter more effectively than Matter.

However, as we know of the existence of objects that 'LOOK' like black holes (but obviously cannot PROVE that they are 'black holes') it would seem fairly obvious that some still DO exists that have NOT evaporated....... thus the evidence would appear to show that Hawking is WRONG with his conjecture! Remember, Hawking's conjecture does not make ANY attempt to explain how some black holes seem to have got...... errr.... BIGGER (and odd word, in this case). He would need to explain how that was POSSIBLE when his conjecture suggests that they would get 'SMALLER'!

On that basis, we'd better hope that Hawking (and thus, I) am RIGHT that it will NOT create a black hole as we have NO proof (or even, any EVIDENCE) that it will 'evaporate'! All the 'EVIDENCE' shows that it would ....... errrrr..... GROW (Ooooooo..... discussions about black holes are SO frustatrting! By defeinition, we have no CONCEPT for the 'SIZE' of a black hole because, by definition, it has NO POSSIBLE SIZE!)

Of course, 'science' 'moves on' every day and I may have MISSED some proof of 'local' black hole production. If you have any proper scientific references on it, I TRULY would be DELIGHTED to hear it! Please, don't do a 'Singers' on me and come up with TRIPE! Evidence that I am wrong WILL be accepted, guesses WON'T! I really do NOT have a closed mind on this and I WILL read your evidence!

Ian
