We agree on some of this, we just don't agree about the ORDER in which this should happen. You think we will get development of 'non fossil' fuel BEFORE the price rises.... I KNOW that we WON'T!

Raise the price NOW and we'll GET the development becasue there will be market PRESSURE to do so! Make the whining lobby happy and put EVERY PENNY of the money raised into 'public transport' and or roads etc.. Announce it NOW that there WILL be an annually, exponentially rising, additional tax on fuels to the point where petrol (as and example) will be FIVE pounds per litre in 10 years!

If fuel r]prices rise within that time so that the PUMP price of fuel, then adjust the new tax so that the price STILL remains at the 'predicted' level in each of those 10 years!

...... THEN we will get 'development' because it WILL be in manufacturer's interests AND the USER'S interests to CREATE the fuel efficient stuff!

It's NOT complicated!
