Roadrat could almost have written the SDR New Chapter of 2002 which concluded that “it was better to engage the enemy, where possible, at longer range (i.e. away from the UK itself) and therefore that the UK needed to have significant forces ready to deploy overseas to act against terrorist groups and regimes that harboured them.”
