I don't think the Government are scared of the reaction of militant religionists, I think they're more concerned by the possible reaction of "The Sun" "The Mirror" and the "Daily Star" if they had of let him in.

All the newspapers claiming this is 'clamping down on free speech' would be up in arms if the government would dare let him in.
