been paintballing a lot, never worn protection down there, and never been shot there, it is unlikely, as you usually leave your legs or arms & head on display to be hit, and you will get hit more in your chest than your gentlemans area, if your any good, you wont get shot there anyway lol, if you are really worried about it, just a pair of socks will do the trick. trust me, it really isnt your main concern, you can be blinded if paint goes in your eye, and you can die if hit directly in the eye, listen to the marshals and main rule, dont lift up your mask!!! dont worry about it and just enjoy it, shoot as many times as possible! lol
