There wouldn't be an issue about restricting the emergency services differently to everyone else, though I would definitely stop short of allowing police to drive at speeds different to the rest of us !
Again, back to my original question - are there more lives LOST as a result of exceeding the speed limits rather than SAVED as a result of exceeding the speed limits ? Its either one or the other ? If it is the former, and the intention is to save these lives, then the only solution is speed limiters. Anything else is akin to the Catholic Church's use of abstenance as a method of contraception and STD prevention.
