Ian.....Connecting without a password is dead easy.
Just go to the Airport icon up at the top menu bar.
Your available routers will be displayed.
Those that have are within range and have passwords will have a closed padlock by the side.
Your unsecured one will have no padlock.
Click on it and away you go, kids stuff, but then it's a MAC!
This thread is being sent on an unsecured D-Link router that I just took out of the box, from my very orifice, so it must work ok.
Alternatively you can click on 'other network', type in the network name and choose 'none' as security.
Be tempted and bite the Apple,Move to a Mac.
