too much focus is put on the driver...when i was young..every second advert during kids tv was for the green cross code, tufty club or the charlie says thing...all about crossing the road safely...now its kill your speed...how about..PEDESTRIANS STAY OFF THE ROAD OR YOU WILL GET KILLED...sounds like a better solution.
i nearly knocked a guy down in Glasgow, i was doing about 20mph HE was walking along talking on his mobile phone and stepped out infront of me, wish i had hit him and got him done with 'wreckless walking'...lol.

speed doesnt kill...its the sudden stop that does it.

but a small note to all drivers who are in a hurry...'better to get there late than get killed'
