try giving pandemic or spanish flu a google to understand the subject a bit further.
While there may NOT be any real threat yet - all the ingrediance are all there.
Bird flu was basically 'feared' because of the threat it would mutate so pig/human would be able to pass it on.
This has now happened, in an expected time scale.
3 pandemic in the last 100 years - the last in the 60's - would suggest the world is due for one - within the next few years.
Should the normal man in the street be worried? Maybe more so in the 3rd world - in England we should all respect what is capable.
Yes, the WHO are a bit jumpy, rightly so.
