Read closely, Chad. I was trying to discuss those that did NOT go exinct in the Asteroid Event and were already dead by that moment.

However, for precision (as much as we CAN be precise about an event 65 million years ago;!)the Asteroid Event DID occur... the question is whether it was the CAUSE of the mass extinction at roughly the same time. Remember, there seems to be plenty of evidence of the 'impact', e.g., the iridium-rich 'dust layer' found all around the world. However, the evidence that it was the MAIN cause of the KT mass extinction simply doesn't exist ... yet!
