Its a while now since I used R14, and then only for 2D stuff, so I'm guessing, but there is a setting that alters the number of "flats" that a circle is displayed with. Autocad knows its a circle, and it usually still looks like a circle, but maybe the 3D software you're using isn't interpreting it correctly, and increasing the resolution (cant remember the correct term) would help. The rendered image is showing 8 sides, so if this setting is at 8, it may be the problem.
