Wow... I didn't know any video of the astounding Lorraine existed. Thanks Dave, but it does bring back sad memories.

The 'scarf' is a confusion with the death of Isadora Duncan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isadora_Duncan).

I was told at the time that Lorraine's brake failed and the resulting accident drove a seat-side-stay through the seat and this punctured her chest. It amazes me that it has taken so long to insist on the huge plastic washers on the top of these stays to reduce the likelihood of a repeat incident.

I am with Dave on this one, in my opinion, she would have been World Champ!
