Language skills are usually considered a plus in any job, motorsport is no different. When working for larger companies in the motorsport industry, like any other, being multilingual is a big, big, bonus.

Remember, the industry is much larger than the mechanics and engineers in a race team. You may find yourself providing technical support to your clients, liaising with international suppliers, etc etc. If they had a choice of languages spoken, employers would probably pick English and German very closely followed by French, Italian and Japanese. This is an even bigger bonus if you have a technical background in your second language.
