I'm one of those BMW drivers... I've an E46 325CI sport with the very wide rear wheels, ultra low profile tyres and an electronic diff. Its a fr1gg1ng nightmare in these conditions. Wish I could just lock the damn diff to give it some chance, the load spread on the wide tyres means I've got to dig myself clear of the slightest obstacle unless I've got a head of speed up [in which case I'm out of control]. With all the warnings the Germans have on this thing, can't believe they didn't mention that it doesn't work in snow/ice !
