If you knew that if we all stopped driving altogether it would have little or no impact.

Or if for every 5 miles less you drive there are maybe a thousand people in China or India who are driving 5 miles more.

What then?

Or what if my making all these minor sacrifices we do more harm than good and cripple our economy, while the economies of the Emerging nations blunder on, because they feel they have the right to do what we've being doing for 100 years + already.

Just go and stand on a motorway bridge and watch the traffic for 10 minutes and then repeat that you think 5 miles a week is anything but beyond pointless.

If this particular problem and it's causes actually exists, which seems less and less likely, then only severe globally enforced solutions will have any effect.
