I do feel sorry for young drivers, my 21 year old son has a Lexus IS200, which costs him the best part of Ł300 a month to insure........pretty much what the car is worth I suppose.

He passed his test at 17, started out with an Escort GTI which was crazy insurance wise also, he now has 4 years no claims, no accidents, and yet is STILL forking out over Ł3000 pa.

I can insure a 4.0 litre V8 Jaguar XJS for a cost of just over Ł50 per month, or Ł600 a year.

I appreciate that young drivers (as proved statistically) are more likely to have claims/accidents......unfortunately, it tars all young drivers with the same brush.......the price differentials are MAD
