Paying tax for essential services such as the NHS, defence etc... is acceptable. Paying tax for TV/radio/internet content provider is not. Why not have a 'magazine/newspaper licence' and create a state sponsored newspaper, and state sponsored magazines that everyone pays for whether you read them or not... and by the way are so potent that they threaten the viability of anybody else who attempts to do something similar.
The BBC is an outdated relic and when TV receivers disappear... as they will pretty soon... this stupid licence fee will go with it. God forbid that they try to tax us on something else like internet access !
