Couple of problems there , you can change insurance companies every year if you like , and although if you have a crash in year 1 and the premium recoups some of the cost in year 2 ,the company you may go with in year 2 didn't pay out for year 1
you can have hefty bills , and don't think for one minute the quote you get from the bodyshop is what the insurance company pays them ... oh no far from it
Also bills can run into 10's of thousands , one of my claims was over 60k (not my fault i was hit by a drunk driver) and thats with no personal injury .... stick someone in hospital with a majour injury and it can get frightening .
Hence they cost the cover at their appropriate risk .
