Just about the ONLY bit of the Govt. that actually WORKS properly is the House of Lords! And THAT's the bit people claim to want to reform!

The present system is no less perfect in PRINCIPLE than any other system. It now has Very VERY few are hereditry peers.

The House of Commons is SUPPOPSED to hold the Government to account..... but they DON'T as they are all DESPERATE for the votes at election time. The Lords are FAR more rebelious, regularly voting AGAINST the Govt., of EITHER party!

...... so what, in GOD's name NEEDS to be changed?

Why do you WANT to disable the Lords when it is doing ITS job PLUS the job for which we pay the MPs?

If the Lords are ELECTED.... then they will be EXACTLY like the House of Commons and become UTTERLY SUPINE like MPs and we'll simply have TWO USELESS Houses of Commons...... do you really WANT to double the number of MPS!!!!!?????!

This is yet ANOTHER poorly thought-through 'idea' of the uneducated MASSES!
