This is Motorsport, at virtually every level, from Cadet karting upwards. It's not the best driver that wins, it's the best driver with lots of money and or influence.

This applies at virtually every level with the possible exception of club championships. In some respects the opposite force also applies, that unless your face fits you will be actively prevented from coming through, however good you are.

As for the current F1 situations. Bernie couldn't argue with the old cliche that: no publicity is bad publicity.

In around about way, just talking about it here, we're helping to line his pockets.
