Now Paul..... perhaps you'd like to explain to us the DIFFERENCE between the concept of 'speed in itself' and the concept of 'speed'.

I'll try to help you here.....

1) you COULD pretend you meant that it's not the SPEEDING which kills you but the STOPPING which does.... Be careful with this argument because the young Nurse who was killed in the classic Harston crash WAS STATIONARY.... it was the ACCELERATION caused to her by the C*** who HIT her that killed HER! In that case, speed SOLELY 'in itself' is what killed HER..... which rather ruins your point!

2) you could try pretending that you meant that INNAPROPRIATE speed is what kills, not speed alone.... again..... be VERY careful with that one as it is hard to see how the word 'speed' could EVER be used in a motoring sense WITHOUT meaning SPEEDING! Or else..... surely, you would have used the CORRECT word which is VELOCITY! Nobody thinks that SPEED is illegal in Britain as 0.00001mph is ALSO A SPEED! The word 'speed' is used in THIS context as to mean 'a speed which is in EXCESS of the legal limit!

I am at a loss to find an EFFECTIVE method of answering the question for you but... you being SO much cleverer than me will have NO problem with this one..... just tell us EXACTLY how the words 'in itself' modify the meaning sufficiently to avoid you being a LUAGHING STOCK with those two UTTERLY CONTRARY statements!

Of course, most of us know the REAL truth here... you just used the trite, cliche statement 'speed in itself doesn't kill' becasue you have never THOUGHT about what those words COULD mean or how STUPID they really are! Too much 'Clarkson', I suspect!

I lool forward to your reasoned answer..... I won't get it as I expect simple abuse as that's all you have managed so far!
