Can you list me some subjects which are NOT 'emotive' to somebody? On THAT logic, no subjects may EVER be compared as they are, by your definition, emotive.
What you REALLY mean is that you HATE the fact that I have shown an error in your logic on subject about which you are confused BECAUSE you feel 'emotional' about it!
One of the 'classic' reduction ad absurdum examples is the statement 'higher tax levels bring in more taxes to the exchequor'. Applying 'Absurdum' logic shows that to be B*LL*X and, particularly THIS week, I can't think of many more 'emotional' subjects than Tax.... we just got hit with this back-claim of HMRC so it's a VERY 'emotive subject in THIS house!
