This problem isn't one of bandwidth or server horsepower. The number of concurrent active users here will be tiny. Its either the RDBMS configuration or [more likely] the way the site's been written.

It might be an idea for the site administrators to let us know what they're planning to do as for the last few weeks the site's been practically unusable.
