I'm struggling to see the benefits of that.
I guess it's behaving like a V4.

Pro's - Maybe it facilitates better gas flow using a larger number of valves.

Con's - Conrods need to be stronger/heavier. Although the crankshaft is the same length as a twin - the block is still almost the same length as four.
Must be more expensive to manufacture because of the increased number of internal components.

I'm no engine expert - I'm just throwing some thoughts into the pot here :-)
