What makes you think they don't stop in those countries? In terms of foreign born population we're ninth in the world. France rates just above us and Germany has approximately double. In terms of net migration we're way down the list at 46th, with Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Denmark, Netherlands, Portugal and Ireland all rating above us.

Sure, some areas are more affected than others, but that's only because of economic opportunity and government policy. Further, when faced with the constant bashing of immigrants, it's only natural for people to form groups and societies with people faced with similar problems.
