Itpro, the environmentalists are a bit like the flat earth society where nuclear power is concerned. They won't accept nuclear energy because it is dangerous to produce and has a long term legacy, where the viable alternatives are fossil fuels which as you point out are probably more dangerous and have a legacy which they tell us will destroy life on earth through global warming. On the subject of viability, I wonder how much CO2 is produced in the manufacture and installation of a wind turbine and what amount of time it would need to operate for at it's real world generation levels to make it environmentally viable?
