'speed is not dangerous nor ever will be'
I've never understood this attitude. Speed is itself inherently dangerous. The faster we travel, the more likely it is we won't survive an impact, we have less time to react to situations, any impact with pedestrians are more likely to result in a fatality, braking distances increase and your more likely to lose control of the vehicle.
You can argue that speeding is LESS important safety wise than improved training for new drivers, or even that with proper training the risk of speeding is lessened, but how you can argue that speed isn't dangerous I don't know.... and this is coming from someone that admittedly speeds regularly!
