I am not doing your research for you..... go and look up the case.

Suffice it to say that he was a F***ING high-speed-driver-trainer for the police. This was NOT his first attempt at this. He was playing 'hare' to trainee policemen who were the 'hounds': EXACTLY in line with the instructions of the Met.

The car was a FULLY 'rated' policecar that had been THOROUGHLY EXAMINED ON THE MORNING OF THE INCIDENT P*R*I*O*R to the 'event'. Not a single one of us could have HIGHER driving 'qualifications' (in the eyes of the court) nor do ANY of us drive a car that has been so THOROUGHLY checked. I don't think the police DO drive well.... but the LAW 'rates' their abilities!

All the rest of your points are just SILLY! For example, he had used the route, by his own ADMISSION, 10s of times before; driving in EXACTLY the same manner. However, your SILLY suggestion about 'unfamiliarity' with the road is a CLASSIC example of a SMOKESCREEN. If he HAD had been 'unfamiliar', then the ONLY action that he would have needed to change was his SPEED. In law and in LIFE, unfamiliarity is NOT an excuse for bad driving! We are ALL required to drive to what we can SEE..... not what we HOPE is around the next corner. For example, being 'familiar' with a 'corner' does N*O*T mean that there won't be a 100 ton CRANE parked around it TODAY... we are thus ALL required to drive as though we have NOT been familiar with that corner! That sort of answer negates most of your other, silly, points!

The traffic lights were temporary BUT legally erected and sign posted. The Nurse was stopped LEGALLY and CORRECTLY at the lights! There was NOWHERE ELSE HE COULD GO.... except into a 'digger/lorry' stationary within the road works .... at the speed he was travelling!

Don't even DREAM of imagining that I have not chosen this case CAREFULLY..... there are Z*E*R*O contributing factors that were AGAINST THE LAW or against the HIGHWAY CODE in THIS one. Every single OTHER factor was EXACTLY as required by the highway code and the law..... even the pre-markings of the road works......E*X*C*E*P*T..... H*I*S..... S**P**E**E**D!

The men who erected the Road Works and signs placed them at the required distance in a 30mph zone. There was ZERO reason for them to expect a car arriving in this speed limit AT THREE TIMES THE LEGAL SPEED. The speed limit for the road just 'outside' the 30mph zone was FIFTY (for about 3 miles before the 30mph limit)..... he was thus at DOUBLE the legal speed limit even BEFORE he got to the 30mph.

If it had been raining, then he SHOULD have been travelling SLOWER for the conditions...... a wet road being more slipperly than a dry road is N*O*T a SURPRISE. If the road WAS wet (it wasn't).... you have just made his SPEED even WORSE...... it's NOT the conditions which kill: it's the DRIVER!

At over 100mph in a 30mph limit, there was NO CHANCE that the copper could stop, even when he had seen the WARNING SIGNS.... let alone the stationary car.....

It's painful using the death of this very young woman to PROVE the point but the whiners, excusers, liars and CRETINS make it essential to expose the fact that their PATHETIC claim that 'speed doesn't kill' is TOTAL B*LL*CKS......

Speed DOES KILL and it WAS the S*O*L*E cause in THIS case!

Once the imbeciles accept this.... we can move on.....!
