In this case specifically, I am talking about the music and film industries. Rather than updating their distribution methods and the nature of their products as well as treating their legitimate customers with respect, they believe they have a right to charge for a product (used loosely) people don't want. They try to enforce their will through abuse of the courts. When this proves ineffectual, they turn to the government cap in hand to gain revenues direct from our pockets.
It has been proven time and again that people WILL pay for a fairly priced product so long as it is a product they want, distributed in a way that is convenient to them.
