Its not as simple as just slapping a new diffuser on. The current models by williams, toyota and brawn all use the rear crash structure as part of the diffuser. That has to be crash tested. Usually all the rear suspension has an effect on how the diffuser works and how much space is available (hence why redbull are angry, they have pullrod rear suspension which doesn't leave enough room for a special diffuser). A diffuser is not like a new front wing you just bolt on.
