is a con job,as the industry is in such a mess due to the #ankers at the banks and the government.
You can get £2000 off a new Vauxhall Astra anyway, the big thing about this or the £2000 for your old banger, is where and how does the likes of the owner of an over 10 yr old car raise the average £10-12000 balance ?
They are not making many cars at Vauxhalls , there have been few transporters leaving Ellesmere Port factory for months now,the storeage yard is empty, sales are virtually nil and the staff who are in the factory (some have gone on a 12 month sebaticle on half wages)are under re-training (in case GM decide not to close it) making LEGO and Playmobile fire engines ,cars etc ),and they are getting a government re-training grant for this !!!!
