I notice that you aren't actually able to address his views, but spend most of your time slagging off his appearance or the way he addresses issues.

This inability to address the views normally means that the critic is reacting emotionally rather than rationally, that one is acting in pre-programmed ways rather than contesting the arguments put forward.

Of course the whole thing was theatre, with a selected audience and panel who were allowed to express a contempt that would have been silenced if the speaker had been anything else than a whipping boy. It had about as much relevance to politics as Strictly Come Dancing does to the real thing. All that was lacking was a phone in to rake in the money by bringing him back next week.

As other people have said, his message resonates with a significant number of people, and many parts of his message are used by manistream politicians for their own advantage when they want it. What part of 'British jobs for British people' by Gordon Brown differs from what Griffin put forward last night for example?

All politicians pander to the populist views of their electors while pushing forward their own agendas. Would one have thought a decade ago that we would have elected a government who has seriously proposed databases containing the DNA and fingerprints, every personal detail, every phone call and every internet opinion of the entire population? If such a thing was proposed by Griffin it would have been shouted down as unthinkably reminiscent of Hitler, yet it is our current government's policy.
