Was an Alfa Sud with a very poor alternator. The ignition system was very susceptible to voltage dips and would effect the sparking of the 4 electrode spark plugs and so cut out the engine.
The KC Daylighters were 150 watt each (4 off) , the sound system around 500 watt with all the amplifiers etc , and the ignition system needed a 20 amp fuse or it would trip (supposed to be 110 watts)
Tried bigger battery but it wasn't until I changed the alternator that the problem went away.
The Italian cars had brilliant engines in those days , but rubbish electrics and bodywork that would rust in front of your eyes LOL
