The leader only has to go fast enough to stay ahead, there is no bonus for winning by a larger margin so a win is still a wil be it by a tenth, a second or a lap or more.
Button went up in my esimation after this win.
Richpudd is spot on with the comment on the consistency. It showed evidence of pace management and tyre protection.
Hamilton had a great drive but lost sight of the fact that if he had not taken the extra set of tyres, given his driving style and not having the luxury of the extra grip that they gave it is likely that he would have been in trouble with his original set and would have been involved in exactly the same fight.
Remember he decided that his tyres had 'gone off' as soon as he got onto Alonso's tail caused by the turbulence he was having to drive in. The problem would have arisen with the first slick set just the same.
